Stoneware Basket Bowl

This hand-built stoneware bowl draws inspiration from the form of a woven basket. The process begins with a hand-molded base, around which a broad clay ribbon is wrapped and pinched to create its distinctive shape. A finely ground layer of pulverized clay enhances the texture of the ribbon before the piece undergoes a high firing. The interior is finished with a Serena Blue glaze, contrasting with the natural clay. This bowl has a natural elegance and... it's food safe. ( Yes, I know there's a wilted marigold in the photo...).
